Salt Lake City's Art Walks

Salt Lake City has options when it comes to art walks - stroll around, learn more about your city, and enjoy the art!

Art crawls are a great way to interact with local art in a more relaxed environment. Take a contemplative walk on your own, invite your friends, or plan the perfect date night around these free art walks.

We’ve split this guide into two sections - gallery art walks, which feature local art galleries and shops opening for a specific evening, and public art walks, which can be done at any time and feature outdoor art like murals and sculptures.

Gallery Art Walks

  • Salt Lake Gallery Stroll

    • 3rd Friday of each month, 6:00PM - 9:00PM

    • Galleries throughout the city open for an evening each month to encourage awareness of SLC’s art community. This stroll spans the whole city, so use the map to hone in on a more walkable area, like downtown or 9th and 9th.

  • Art Stroll at the Gateway

    • August 15 and September 19, 6:00PM - 9:00PM

    • Make your way down Rio Grande Street and check out the themed windows lining the street - this year’s theme is “Chromatic Palettes.” Pop inside some of the installation spaces that open for the Gallery Stroll, and don’t miss the live music!

  • Sugar House Art Walk

    • 2nd Friday of each month, 6:00PM - 9:00PM

    • Sugar House is full of eclectic, cozy shops that are perfect for browsing on a date night. This art walk is easily walkable, features live music, and plenty of options to stop of dinner while you walk!

Public Art Walks

  • Life on State

    • Have you noticed the neon signs lining State Street? From 600 South to 700 South, you’ll find 4 posts that display 2 works of neon art each, meant to celebrate State Street’s cultural history. Make a night of it by stopping at The Bayou for dinner and drinks!

  • Hidden Waters on North Temple

    • These decorative water droplets designed by local artists mark the path of the buried City Creek, bringing awareness to Seven Canyons Trust’s greater project to restore buried creeks in the valley.

  • SLC Murals and Street Art

    • This mural tour passes through downtown, The Gateway, and the Granary District. Take your time, use TRAX & Greenbike to get around, and stop for a beer or two on your way.

  • Salt Lake West of Conventional Mural Tour

    • If you check in at 6 of the included murals through the app, you can claim a prize from the Salt Lake Visitors Center! 🏅

  • Utah Transit Authority's Art Crawl Guide

    • UTA’s art crawl utilizes TRAX lines to get you all over the city, stopping by murals and some important pieces of public art (like our beloved whale).
