🥕 Wasatch Food Co-op Grand Opening!
Salt Lake City is finally getting its first food co-op! Opening May 20, Wasatch Food Co-op will provide local, sustainably-produced food at affordable prices. They’re located in The Milk Block, at 416 East 900 South.
Grocery store cooperatives are jointly owned and governed by their members. The general public is welcome to shop at the store, but to become a member-owner of the co-op, you’ll pay a lifetime membership fee of $300. Employees are paid fair wages, and $0.60 of every dollar spent in a co-op goes back to the local economy. In profitable years, members will even receive patronage refunds.
At their grand opening on the 20th, you’ll find free coffee, live music, samples, raffles, and more! Be sure to check it out!
