🐳 New Whale, New Me
Have you seen the plans for our city’s beloved whale at 9th and 9th? The new mural, named “Open Your Eyes,” was announced on 801 Day, and takes inspiration from the Great Salt Lake.
The current mural, “Point of Reference,” is an interpretation of sunrises and sunsets in the neighborhood. Enjoy it through August 17th, when the painting is scheduled to begin.
The whale was always intended to be repainted every 3-5 years, allowing the whale to change with us. All hail the whale!

Ollie & Jackson, 8 Years Old
“Ollie and Jackson are 8-year-old brothers with a lot of love to give. These adorable boys are a perfect yin and yang. Ollie is the social butterfly of the pair, and his foster reports that his tail starts wagging the moment he sees a friend coming. Jackson is a bit more reserved, but loves gentle pets and smooches once he warms up.”
