This Weekend in SLC

Wildflower festivals, eating campfire favorites, and beating the heat at local museums

🗓️ This Week’s Outing Ideas

Each week, we’ll share two ideas for fun local outings —the research is done, just pick your favorite!

A City Hike and an Icy Delight

Start the day with a hike in the city. Hell Canyon, cozied up in the hills behind the Capitol, is an out-and-back hike that allows (leashed) dogs and offers beautiful views.

Recharge with a hearty bowl of ramen at Koyoté in the Marmalade District. If it’s too stifling for a hot meal, try the Ice Ramen —a refreshing take on a classic.

Bookstore & Bakery Crawl

Start with coffee in hand, visit the coziest fantasy bookstore, grab a quick sweet treat, and browse the aisles of a romance-themed bookstore. All in just 0.4 miles!

  • Loki Coffee (Catch live DJ sets for am.clubSLC Saturday from 10:00AM-2:00PM)

  • The Legendarium

Plan Ahead!
Pie and Beer Day is next Thursday, July 24. Next week’s email will feature all the best options for your pie and beer needs.

🚨 New Restaurant Alert!

Kura Revolving Sushi
This revolving sushi restaurant in Sugar House features a conveyor belt that delivers fresh sushi right to your table for about $4 per plate. When you finish, drop the plate into the slot at your table, and the dish will appear on your touchscreen. When you’ve deposited 15 plates, you’re rewarded with a small prize. It’s not the best sushi in the valley, but if you’re looking for something new and fun, Kura is definitely worth checking out.

🏆 Dog of the Week

To be featured as dog of the week, reply to this email with a picture of your pup, their name, neighborhood, and a few of your favorite facts about them!

Scout, 6 years old, Capitol Hill

Scout is quite the unique creature. She’s a border collie, husky, pug mix, and she has the snout to prove it! Seen here at Mirror Lake, Scout loves scouting out new locations, meeting new friends, and morning snuggles.
